In this week's episode, I have Dr. Maxine Bradshaw joining me. 

Dr. Maxine A. Bradshaw is a Certified Trauma Professional and EQI Coach. She graduated from the University of the West Indies with a BSc. in Business with Upper-Class Honors and from Howard University where she earned a Master of Arts in Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Education in Counseling (M.Ed.), and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology.

She is also an Author and Motivational Speaker. Dr. Bradshaw is the recipient of the 2020–2021 Global Forum of Education and Learning (GFEL) Top 100 Leaders in Education Award in the category of Mental Health and Wellness.

In this episode, Dr. Bradshaw and I discussed:

  • Her educational background in Jamaica
  • Growing up in Jamaica and its close-knit community
  • Immigrating to the US and how she assimilated into the US culture
  • Challenges and differences between studying in Jamaican and US
  • Showing up as her true authentic immigrant self
  • Examples of the challenges immigrants face and how it affects their mental health
  • Advice to improve mental health
